Mission teams serve outside the New Horizons Fellowship facility, whether locally, regionally, or internationally.
- Local team activities include prison ministry (Jailhouse Rock), nursing home ministry (Geriatric Jam), delivery of local Meals on Wheels, building days with Habitat for Humanity, connecting families with toys through The Christmas Store, and providing food to hungry schoolchildren with Backpack Buddies.
- Regionally, the Disaster Immediate Response Team (DIRT) sends teams of volunteers to assist those affected by natural disasters or other tragedies. Previous DIRT participants have gone to NYC and Washington, DC after 9/11, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, West Virginia after flooding, and throughout NC in response to hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding.
- Internationally, New Horizons has sent teams or representatives recently to Jamaica, Haiti, Southern Africa, and France, and anticipates adding travel to Argentina.
